Valerie Clarke, Welfare Officer
Having always wanted to be a beauty therapist from her teenage years but unable to do so due to circumstance, Valerie was eventually able to re-train and qualify in her early thirties. Her passion for the subject made her student of the year with Diplomas in Beauty and Holistic Therapy, Aromatherapy and Reflexology.
After six years self-employed in the industry, in 2003 Valerie opened "The Lilac Room" her own beauty and holistic salon, in the Ribble Valley, which combined the most up to date treatments with a highly individual and personal touch. Valerie and her team developed The Lilac Room philosophy by setting the highest standards and maintained a level of attention to detail only surpassed by the warm and caring environment in which the treatments were undertaken.
With a successful business and growing client base, Valerie began to realise that time had become her master and the opportunity to regain control by developing as a consultant led to the invitation to become Staff Welfare Officer at Rossendales. Valerie now concentrates on providing the staff at Rossendales with a wide range of beauty treatments and holistic therapies designed to heal, balance and revitalise body and soul.
