Rossendales Promote A Healthy Workplace!
70 members of Rossendales staff including Managers and Directors are putting their best foot forward to take part in the 2010 ‘Get the World Moving’ walking challenge!
The event lasting 111 days from May 20th 2010 until September 7th 2010 has been organised by The Global Corporate Challenge (GCC) and is the world’s largest corporate health and wellbeing initiative that combines exercise, fun and ‘virtual’ interactive experiences in some of the most amazing places on the earth.
What is the challenge?
Rossendales have entered 10 teams of seven people; each person has been provided with a starter pack made up of a rucksack, a welcome booklet and two GCC pedometers that they must wear daily to record the number of steps they have taken over the 16 weeks.
Each team member must log their progress daily onto the GCC website www.gettheworldmoving.com and their total steps will be added together and converted into the total distance that the team has travelled. It will plot the team’s progression along the virtual tour of the world providing interesting facts and figures on the various different countries. The more active the team are, the further they will travel!!
Rossendales are always looking at ways to promote a healthy workplace and the Global Corporate Challenge will encourage staff to exercise more, developing a healthy habit that hopefully will stay with them for the rest of their lives.
