Rossendales education

Rossendales actively support education at all levels through various direct initiatives and in association with the Lancashire Education Business Partnership (LEBP), Training 2000 and Accrington & Rossendale College.

Rossendales provide work placements to university students, recently employing a student from Newcastle Business School, Northumbria University. The placement contributed to his BSc course in Business Studies with Marketing, allowing him to attain an extra qualification – Licentiateship of the City and Guilds of London (LCGI).

A visiting tutor from Northumbria complimented the highly professional placement opportunity being provided to the student. The student gave the following testimonial:

"During my work placement at Rossendales, I've been involved in many marketing projects; attending conferences, sourcing promotional items and co-ordinating the copy and contributing to the design layout of promotional literature. These tasks involved working with members of staff at all levels  from administrators to the Board of Directors. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent at Rossendales and I believe that the experience gained will be of great benefit to me and I could not recommend the placement highly enough."

Adam Clarke – Marketing Assistant

Following Adam's return to university, he has since contacted our Managing Director, Dave Chapman:

I just thought I would write you a quick e-mail to let you know that I attained a first for the portfolio that I put together whilst working at Rossendales. I'm incredibly pleased with this and I don't think I would have got this grade without the help that I received from all the members of staff there. I would also like to thank yourself, Mike and Dave once again for the opportunity that you gave me whilst I was on my placement. I thoroughly enjoyed working at Rossendales and met some wonderful people. I hope we can stay in touch.

Thank you once again.
Kind regards,
Adam Clarke

Directors and some senior managers are fully qualified LEBP Ambassadors and participate in LEBP initiatives. LEBP is a registered charity, which builds bridges between education and business communities working with over 6,000 businesses and over 300 schools/colleges and educational establishments across Lancashire.

Through our involvement with LEBP, Rossendales are a consortium member in a gateway bid to deliver the new Business, Administration and Finance Diploma that will be taught to 14 -19 year olds and covers subjects ranging from accounting to marketing, customer service and personal finance. Additionally, Rossendales LEBP Ambassadors also support enterprise days and mock interview days in Lancashire schools.
